Women's Health Services

Meeting the health care needs of women is an integral part of Chase Brexton's mission.  Chase Brexton provides comprehensive primary health care services that are woman-focused.  A strong emphasis on prevention, early detection and the management of chronic diseases affecting women across the lifespan is fundamental to the quality services provided by Chase Brexton. 

Our women’s health services are supported by a multi-disciplinary team that includes dieticians, case managers, wellness educators, nursing and mental health therapists.  Referrals for screening services such as mammography are provided.  Physicians, staff and volunteers employ special sensitivity to sexual orientation and HIV status. 

Women’s health includes a variety of clinical services designed to provide comprehensive, convenient and accessible care for our patients such as:

• general medical care (e.g. diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, etc.)
• gynecological exams, including clinical breast exams and pap smears
• evaluation and treatment of abnormal PAP smears
• birth control*
• Plan B emergency birth control* to prevent pregnancy after sex
• sexually transmitted disease (STD) screening, counseling, and treatment
   

At this time we do not provide pre-natal or delivery services (obstetrics) for expecting mothers.

*Birth control and low-cost medications are available for women who qualify.  

*Emergency birth control is available by phone or same-day prescription.  Prevent pregnancy by taking emergency contraception pills 3-5 days after unprotected/unsafe sex.  You do not need to be an established Chase Brexton patient to use this service.
