The LGBT Health Resource Center joined more than 100 other organizations as signatories of a national open letter about coronavirus and the LGBTQ+ communities.
The letter, organized by the National LGBT Cancer Network and GLMA, addresses the LGBTQ+ communities’ increased vulnerability for COVID-19 as a direct result of three factors:
BALTIMORE (January 14, 2020) - Chase Brexton Health Care employees raised more than $25,000 during the organization’s recently completed end-of-year employee giving campaign, which will support their mission to provide welcoming, affordable health care for all.
The final total of $25,709 exceeded the campaign’s goal, with 32 percent of Chase Brexton’s more than 400 employees contributing. The total includes five individual gifts of more than $1,000.

Maryland lawmakers on March 25 passed legislation supported by testimony from Chase Brexton Health Care providers allowing the prescription of HIV-preventing pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to minors without parental permission.
The bill now heads to Governor Larry Hogan to be signed into law.
PrEP is a single daily pill which is overwhelmingly effective in reducing an individual’s risk of contracting HIV if they are exposed to the virus. Chase Brexton has been a leader in Baltimore and Central Maryland in prescribing PrEP.
