Andy Zipay
Social Work Case Manager I
19 years
"19 years! Wow! Time has really gone by fast. My first 5 years went so slow. And the last 14 have flown by so quickly. Chase was my first professional job. I have grown up here. When I started I was so young, living with Mom. Now I am partnered for 11 years and own a home. I will always be grateful for my internship at HERO for helping to get me the job at Chase. That was my only experience with social work and Chase hired me on the limb because of that short experience. They saw potential in me. And I am so thankful for the ones that hired me.
I love working at Chase Brexton because of the diverse population that we serve. I really like that we are a place where patients and staff feel comfortable to be who they are. Whenever I get the chance to tell people where I work, I feel so proud to tell. I always get really good reactions from people. I'm so proud of the rich history Chase has with the LGBTQ+ community. I love doing case management work. One of my supervisors once said that it's a good fit for me. And she was right. I can't imagine doing anything else. Being part of SWOD, I have to say that I have been blessed to work under great Directors (3 so far). I have also had great supervisors (5 so far). There is no way I would have stayed here so long if it was not for the good leadership that I work for. I have had health challenges over the past 3 years, and leadership has been so compassionate and helpful. I couldn't have made it without them! I am especially thankful to Christina Daly and Derricka White. And last but not least, thank you to Patrick Mutch for getting a good culture at Chase Brexton. I am lucky to be at Chase Brexton and I hope I can be here for many more years!"

"My passion for working at CBHC has been fueled by the continual ability to assist not only the communities we service but also being able to work alongside such an amazing group of people."
Debb Dunn
Transgender Health Coordinator
14 years
"I am very passionate about my patients. I leave work every day feeling grateful for the impact that I have on providing quality of care to their lives. I love my relationship with each of them and how they make me feel important and appreciated. They teach me resilience. I also love my work as Trans Health Coordinator, and the work I do as a teacher, speaker, and builder of relationships with community partners."
Dr. Sarah Connor
Staff Physician
12 years
"The doctor patient relationships that I have developed over the last 12 years have been meaningful and rewarding. I was drawn to the mission of Chase Brexton and have found my goal fulfilled of being the family medicine physician I dreamed of as a young adult. My career path was undecided during my childhood/teenage years however I always knew I wanted to provide care (in some way!) to those who needed it the most. Cheers to 12 years!
Dr. Sebastian Ruhs
Chief Medical Officer

Our dedicated, mission-driven staff truly care about our patients. I appreciate the diversity of our staff and patients, who come from all different kinds of backgrounds. Chase Brexton provides services in unique areas that I am very passionate about, including gender affirming care, providing care for persons with HIV, LGBTQ+ health care, and more. Being part of providing advocacy work for marginalized groups such as these and being able to help promote positive change is why I like working at Chase Brexton.
