Chase Brexton was once again at the heart of the 44th Annual Baltimore Pride celebration on the weekend of June 15 and 16, 2019.
On Saturday, approximately 75 Chase Brexton staff members, friends, and family joined our smaller mobile medical van in the 11-block Pride Parade on North Charles Street, and they looked fabulous! In a separate event on Saturday, Chase Brexton’s own Amit Dhir, an Infectious Diseases nurse practitioner from Mt. Vernon Center, won the annual Baltimore Pride High Heel Race—his third consecutive win!
We were out in full force again the next day for the Pride Festival in Druid Hill Park. The POWER Project and the LGBT Health Resource Center took the lead, offering HIV testing and resources, and information about services available here at Chase Brexton. Additionally, Baltimore’s LGBT Elder community gathered, shared memories, and made new connections at The LGBT Health Resource Center’s Elder Pride tent. Hundreds stopped by to share stories, hear about LGBT services, and add their initials along the LGBT history timeline for the year that they came out.
Our month of Pride didn’t end there, either. The LGBT Health Resource Center was on site for Harford County's first-ever Upper Chesapeake Pride event, which took place in Havre de Grace on Saturday, June 21. We also took part in Howard County Pride in late June to promote our services and resources.
