National Honor Our LGBT Elders Day 2024

May 16
Thursday, May 16
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

The Center for LGBTQ Health Equity and the ElderPride Council cordially invite you to join us as we celebrate National Honor Our LGBT Elders Day 2024.

Founded in Baltimore and now celebrated coast to coast, National Honor Our LGBT Elders Day, or Elders Day, was created to foster awareness and show appreciation for the lifetime of contributions made by LGBT Elders. This special day of recognition was added to the National Days Registry by the Center for LGBTQ Health Equity in 2016 and is a pillar in our ElderPride program serving LGBTQ community members age 50+. The gains made by our community sit squarely on the backs of those whose struggles and victories, extraordinary courage, and everyday authenticity pioneered the LGBTQ equality movement. As we now face new threats and hostility, we are reminded that we have seen this before. Every one of our LGBT Elders has lived amidst the fires of change, through triumphs and struggles. We honor their courage and tenacity, and we seek their wisdom and guidance as we face new perils and challenges. Our Elders hold our history.

This year, we will gather at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall for an evening of inspiration, community, and gratitude. Guests are invited to enjoy social connection and warm reunion during our opening reception, partake of a delicious locally produced sit-down dinner, and hear an inspiring group of LGBTQ community storytellers share the importance of a beloved Elder who has been essential to their journey.

Please click the "Register Now" link below to secure tickets for yourself, your organization, or to pay it forward and sponsor a ticket for an Elder who might otherwise not be able to attend. Reserve your spot now, space is limited and we do expect to sell out.
