Stephanie Saunders, Mt. Vernon Center

Behavioral Health- 16 years

"Roots grounded in Chase’s rich history with hope/vision for the future. One patient at a time. One injustice at a time. The continued existence of health disparities. The need for courageous conversations and irresistible invitations. Belief in a truly integrated treatment model of care. A team approach. Knowing how to ride the wave of burn out. Attaching the meaning of the mission and vision statements to everything that I do. My personal motto: By slowing down, we get there faster….."

Sharell Bryant, Mt. Vernon Center

Social Work & Outreach Department, 14 years

"I can recall the day I walked into Chase Brexton. I was there to accompany an active patient, and we were sent to Case Management to receive further assistance. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a former employee, who just so happened to be covering the front desk. She was so sweet & bubbly, I instantly inquired about how to apply.

Fast forward November 17th, 2008, I was hired as an Administrative Assistant working in Case Management and Outreach Department “CMOD” and the Research Department.

I remember witnessing how compassionate, caring & attentive one of the case managers were while a patient was very emotionally upset. Although I had no idea the details of situation to cause the patient to be emotionally upset it was the reassurance that support was/is available to the patient. That is when I knew I made a great decision being apart of such a great organization.

One thing that I’m passionate about is being able to help others. I’ve always been someone who’s looked after others and wanted to help people, rather than just helping myself.

On November 23rd, 2020, I was promoted within Social Work & Outreach Department “SWOD” in the role as The Mobile Outreach Coordinator seemed like the perfect opportunity. Becoming the newest Mobile Outreach Coordinator allow me to step away from the front desk & get more active in the community.

I enjoy working in the health industry. It allows me to blend my personal interests and passions with my career. I feel like I’m spending my time working on helping people with something that’s important, and that motivates me to do great work.

I owe a huge thank you to my department! Social Work & Outreach Department formerly known as “CMOD”, because working with such a big team that becomes an extended family has played a major role in my growth within CB.

Lisa Pearson, Columbia Center

Behavioral Health- 10 years

"I grew up across the street from a community health center. I would go to doctor’s visits with my grandmother. She would tell me, “One day, you are going to be a doctor and do good work like they do”

Well… while I profoundly respect our doctors and the entire multidisciplinary team, I found my passion in social work.

Being in the community health arena at Chase Brexton honors my grandmother, my passion for children and families, mental health, teamwork, and social justice.

It’s been my pleasure to learn, grow and go into the future with Chase Brexton Health Care"

Kyle Thompson, Finance- 10 years

"I came to Chase Brexton after working for a textile manufacturing company that saw its business moving overseas.  Not wanting to move away, I knew I wanted to work somewhere hometown that had meaning. I came to Chase and have never looked back.  I truly love making sure (even during the crazy beginning of COVID and FF hours) that our employees get paid.  I see how hard they work to care for our patients, even under tough circumstances and want to give that same passion to my job and get them paid. I am thankful every day for being a part of this team and being able to tell friends and family about the wonderful organization I work for."
