Join us in support of The Center for LGBTQ Health Equity
Baltimore (Oct. 1, 2024) – Supporters of equitable and affirming health care are invited to be part of Chase Brexton Health Care’s Inaugural Annapolis Gala on Saturday, Nov. 2, benefitting The Center for LGBTQ Health Equity at Chase Brexton Health Care.
The first-of-its-kind event will be held at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Philip Merrill Environmental Center, the world’s first LEED Platinum certified building. Tickets and sponsorships are available now; to learn more, visit https://events.chasebrexton.org/CBHC1Annapolis2024.
“The ACLU is tracking over 500 proposed anti-LGBTQ bills in the US in 2024, including two in Maryland which were thankfully defeated in April,” said Alexa Milanytch, Director of Development for Chase Brexton Health Care. “I am proud of the Inaugural Annapolis Gala—conceived by our co-chairs—because they are standing up and fighting for a welcoming and affirming environment in their community, in our capital. We anticipate 200 guests at the premiere and are planning to make this an annual event with plans already underway for a second-annual gala in the fall of 2025. We invite the entire community to join the cause.”
Proceeds from the Inaugural Annapolis Gala will support The Center for LGBTQ Health Equity, part of Chase Brexton Health Care. Through health care services, education, training, research, and advocacy, the Center works to end the health disparities that exist within LGBTQ communities and give patients worldwide—regardless of how they identify—the opportunity to live the healthiest life possible.
In addition to a cocktail reception, oyster bar, and a presentation about the Center, the gala will feature a silent auction. Virtual bids can be placed now at www.32auctions.com/AnnapolisGala2024 through Nov. 2; businesses and individuals are welcome to support the event by donating auction items and experiences between now and October 28.
Sponsors of the Annapolis Gala include Silver sponsors Brown Advisory, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, and ProMD Health; and Bronze sponsors AdNet, Carolyn Kammeier, Collins + Co, Jamie Merida and Vincent Bochin of Bountiful Home, Charlie O’Connell, Salt Creek Gardens, and University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
In addition, Chase Brexton would like to thank the Annapolis Gala committee: co-chairs Dana Cooksey, Miller Douglas, and Jennifer McClintock; and members Casey Boccia, Colleen Connors, Carolyn Kammeier, Emily Kunisch, Hilarey Leonard, Jamie Merida, and Kerri A. Reilly.
