Dr. Elyse Pine was named Chase Brexton Health Care's Provider of the Year for 2024 at a recent gathering of our senior leadership and providers from our medical, behavioral health, dental, OB/GYN, psychiatry and pediatric teams.
A pediatric endocrinologist, Dr. Pine has been with Chase Brexton since 2015 and sees patients at Mt. Vernon and Columbia Centers. Dr. Pine was nominated by her peers, and selected by the senior leadership team.
"I am happy that my career path led me here to Chase Brexton, building a program I am proud of," Dr. Pine said. "When passion meets collaboration, extraordinary things happen. Here’s to loving what we do, and the incredible people we do it with."
Dr. Sebastian Ruhs, Chase Brexton's Chief Medical Officer, noted Dr. Pine's unique training and skillset, and her tireless efforts to share that knowledge with other providers and with those in positions of political power.
"To share those skills and allow for more patients to have access to care, she is now helping to train pediatricians to become skilled and knowledgeable in providing gender-affirming care services to pediatric and adolescent patients," Dr. Ruhs said. "She has published multiple papers. She speaks, teaches, and trains on the state and federal level. She has also participated in critical advocacy at both the state and federal level and is a go to subject matter expert for elected officials and their legislative staff members as they seek to better understand the science of pediatric gender care. She is an active problem solver, always working to improve the care we provide, and to solve system problems that create barriers for our transgender and nonbinary patients."
