MAIL-IN FORM - IN ENGLISH / IN SPANISH
IN-PERSON - You can register at any of the following locations:
- Your local board of elections;
- The State Board of Elections;
- Your local Department of Health office;
- The Maryland Department of Human Services local offices;
- The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) offices;
- Your local Area Agency on Aging office;
- The MTA Paratransit Certification Office;
- All public institutions of higher education;
- Recruitment offices of the U.S. Armed Forces;
- Marriage license offices; and
- Offices for students with disabilities at all Maryland colleges and universities.
VOTE BY MAIL - GET A MAIL-IN BALLOT
Mail-in ballots are also called absentee ballots. You can get a mail-in ballot in three different ways:
- Email – you will receive a link, download the ballot, and you have to print it out
- Fax – you need a fax machine
Ballots are sent or posted to the website about 3 weeks before an election.

To get your ballot mailed or faxed to you:
Submit your request by Tuesday, October 27, 2020
- Mailed/faxed requests must be at the election office by 8 PM.
- Online requests must be submitted by 11:59 PM.
To get your ballot e-mailed to you:
Submit your request by Friday, October 30, 2020
- Mailed/faxed requests must be at the election office by 5 PM.
- Online requests must be submitted by 11:59 PM.
MAIL-IN VOTING DEADLINES
MAIL YOUR BALLOT
- Mail it ON OR BEFORE election day, November 3, 2020.
- If you mail it ON election day, MAKE SURE IT IS POSTMARKED NOVEMBER 3, 2020.
- Your ballot must be received by your local board of elections by 10AM on November 13, 2020.
HAND DELIVERING YOUR BALLOT Take it to:
- your local board of elections by 8PM on election day, November 3, 2020
- an early voting center or a polling place by the time the polls close.
IN-PERSON VOTING
EARLY VOTING Thursday, October 22, 2020 through Thursday, October 29, 2020
- Less polls will be open – see where you can vote early here.
- Polls will be open from 8AM to 8PM each day.
- Anyone in line at 8PM will be allowed to vote.
ELECTION DAY Tuesday, November 3, 2020
- All polling places will be open. See where your polling place is here.
- Polls are open from 7AM to 8PM.
