Chase Brexton Health Care patients facing hypertension or cardiovascular disease will benefit from the community health care center’s purchase of new EKG machines, made possible by a recent $74,000 grant from CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield.
The grant award was made as part of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield’s "Improved Access to Chronic Disease Management Services for Low-Income Populations Diagnosed with Hypertension or Vascular Disease” program.
The new EKG machines will support Chase Brexton's clinical quality metrics by supporting our efforts to increase the percentage of primary care patients diagnosed with hypertension, who have controlled blood pressure, and maintaining the percentage of primary care patients diagnosed with Ischemic Vascular Disease who are currently taking Aspirin or Anti-Thrombotic Therapy.
Chase Brexton Health Care plans to purchase several such machines for use at its five centers across Central Maryland.
