Chase Brexton Health Care was recognized with the “Equity of Care” Award, which was presented to the organizations that are noteworthy leaders and examples of equitable care. Honorees demonstrate a high level of success in reducing health care disparities and promote diversity in leadership and staff within their organization.

Chase Brexton Health Care Again Named “Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality” by Human Rights Campaign

(4/20/22) Chase Brexton Health Care was again named a Leader in LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the educational arm of the nation’s largest LGBTQ civil rights organization.

The designation was reported in the recently released 2022 edition of the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI). Chase Brexton was one of only two Maryland healthcare providers, and 496 nationwide, to earn the honor.

Chase Brexton Health Care Receives $75,000 Grant to Support Dental Services

Chase Brexton Health Care recently received a grant of $75,000 from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation to continue its efforts to provide quality, affordable dental care amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The funding will support Chase Brexton’s dental services at its Mt. Vernon, Columbia, Glen Burnie, and Randallstown Centers.

Chase Brexton to Address Child, Adolescent Mental Health With Support of $100,000 Grant

Chase Brexton's Behavioral Health team will soon expand their care to children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 17 years old with the establishment of a Pediatric Adolescent Clinical Care Team, supported by a $100,000 grant from the Leonard and Helen R. Stulman Foundation.

Under the direction of Dr. Stephanie Saunders, Chase Brexton's Director of Behavioral Health Services, the team will expand access to essential wraparound behavioral health services to Baltimore City children, adolescents, and families.

Celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility 2021

Each year, March 31 is celebrated internationally as Transgender Day of Visibility, an important chance to celebrate the successes and contributions of transgender and gender non-conforming individuals.

Unlike Transgender Day of Remembrance, observed annually on November 20 to remember those who have lost their lives to anti-transgender violence, Transgender Day of Remembrance honors the lives of transgender and gender non-confirming individuals around the world.

COVID-19 Pandemic Creates Growing Need for Behavioral Health Services

The physical toll of the COVID-19 pandemic is measured in new cases and medical outcomes, but hidden costs of the pandemic are often borne by those who may never contract the virus.

The stresses of the pandemic and the restricted lives most Americans face have caused a surge in the demand for behavioral health services. This need comes not just from those already in care who find themselves cut off from their traditional appointments and groups, but also from individuals who might never before have needed behavioral health assistance.

Chase Brexton Receives $750,000 Weinberg Grant to Upgrade Facilities, Purchase Equipment

Chase Brexton Health Care will make much-needed upgrades to its centers in central Maryland and purchase important new equipment thanks to a $750,000 grant from The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation.

Funding from the capital grant will serve to provide safer and more secure access for Chase Brexton’s 36,000 patients across its five centers across Maryland.

A significant portion of the grant will be used to make exterior repairs to Chase Brexton’s historic Mt. Vernon Center, an architecturally significant building first opened in 1928.
