Chase Brexton Receives $150K Grant From Siemens Foundation for COVID-19 Efforts

Baltimore – (April 21, 2020) – The Siemens Foundation today announced it is providing $150,000 to Chase Brexton Health Care to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. The community health center is one of 12 receiving financial support from the non-profit organization established by Siemens USA.

Chase Brexton Launches COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund

Seeking to better meet patient needs during the COVID-19 pandemic, Chase Brexton Health Care has established a COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund which will help the community health center maintain patient screening and testing efforts and build its telehealth capability.

Dr. Sebastian Ruhs, the director of the Infectious Diseases Center of Excellence at Chase Brexton Health Care in Baltimore, notes that there’s no difference in the risk posed to a healthy LGBTQ person and a healthy heterosexual person — although some LGBTQ people may be at higher risk due to other underlying health conditions or lifestyle choices, such as smoking or vaping, that might compromise their pulmonary health.

LGBT Health Resource Center Joins Open Letter on LGBTQ+ & COVID-19

The LGBT Health Resource Center joined more than 100 other organizations as signatories of a national open letter about coronavirus and the LGBTQ+ communities.

The letter, organized by the National LGBT Cancer Network and GLMA, addresses the LGBTQ+ communities’ increased vulnerability for COVID-19 as a direct result of three factors:

Chase Brexton Employees Raise More Than $25,000 to Support Mission of Healthcare for All

BALTIMORE (January 14, 2020) - Chase Brexton Health Care employees raised more than $25,000 during the organization’s recently completed end-of-year employee giving campaign, which will support their mission to provide welcoming, affordable health care for all.

The final total of $25,709 exceeded the campaign’s goal, with 32 percent of Chase Brexton’s more than 400 employees contributing. The total includes five individual gifts of more than $1,000.

Substance Use Providers Boosted by Federal Loan Repayment Program
